There's more clay-court action for fans to enjoy at the WTA event in Stuttgart on Wednesday, an event that is close to the heart of multiple Grand Slam winner Iga Swiatek, who will get her tournament underway with a match against Laura Siegemund. It is the German who has had the benefit of playing at the tournament already, but that might not matter too much. After all, Iga Swiatek won this event in both 2022 and 2023, so she knows how to deliver the goods under these conditions. 

This will be the Polish player's first clay-court match of the season, but that probably won't worry her too much. She's a serious clay-court competitor, one who usually makes light of defeating lower-ranked players in straight sets. Siegemund doesn't exactly bring hot clay-court form to the table, while she had to work very hard to beat a much lesser player during the first round. In other words, you can expect the German to struggle here.
