Genoa and AS Roma square off at Stadio Luigi Ferraris on Sunday in a Serie A clash that carries significant stakes on both ends of the table. Genoa, managed from the technical area with clear survival instincts, sit just three points above the relegation zone and badly need points to breathe easier as the season heads toward its final stretch.
Roma, meanwhile, are in a much more positive frame of mind, sitting just two points behind Napoli in third place and six behind AC Milan in second, they are pushing hard for a top-three finish and the Champions League qualification that comes with it.
In recent form, the contrast between these two sides is stark. Roma have not lost in their last four Serie A matches, collecting two wins and two draws in that run, including a dramatic 3-3 draw with Juventus. Before that, Roma beat Sassuolo 2-0 and posted multiple scorelines with at least two goals.
The Giallorossi have found a more reliable attacking rhythm under manager Gian Piero Gasperini, who took over midseason and has steadily improved the team's consistency. Genoa, on the other hand, endured a 2-0 defeat to Inter Milan last weekend that snapped a two-match unbeaten run and left them in a fragile position. They have lost three of their last five games overall and have managed just one win in their last ten home fixtures against Roma, a troubling stretch of six losses in that sample.

Our Genoa vs Roma Prediction
On the individual front, Roma's attack has been visibly hampered by injuries. Artem Dovbyk, Paulo Dybala, Evan Ferguson, Mario Hermoso, Matias Soulé, and Stephan El Shaarawy are all currently unavailable, a staggering list of absentees that has forced Gasperini to rely on depth players and tactical creativity. Despite that, Roma have still found goals, with their scoring over 2.5 in each of their last three league games.
Genoa also have injury concerns, with goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist and defender Sebastian Otoa both ruled out. Forward Caleb Ekuban returned from a thigh problem recently and made an immediate impact off the bench, while Vitinha and Lorenzo Colombo carry the primary offensive burden.
Roma enter as clear favorites, reflective of both the head-to-head dominance and Roma's superior league position. Roma have won 13 of their last 20 meetings with Genoa and have not lost away at Ferraris since 1990. Even missing multiple key attackers, Roma's squad depth and motivation for a top-three finish should give them the edge. Genoa will need something special to upset the visitors. Our prediction for Genoa vs. AS Roma: Over 2.5 goals.
