With just four games left to play, San Diego FC's MLS postseason hopes are hanging by a thread. A run of six games without a win means that Mikey Varas's side are currently five points outside the Western Conference wild card places. As such, anything less than three points from their home clash with the Seattle Sounders on Saturday night will probably spell the end of their playoff hopes.
Seattle's play off hopes look far more positive, despite last week's disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Montreal. The Sounders are currently seventh in the Western Conference and have a six point cushion over the teams outside the postseason places. Victory on Saturday will not only virtually secure them a place in the playoffs, but it will also significantly increase their chances of a top seven finish they would see them bypass the wild card round.
