Meanwhile, Safiullin posted his second consecutive victory over a player from Kazakhstan as he downed Alexander Bublik 6-4 6-2. Safiullin won 77 percent of his first serves while firing seven aces to eliminate Bublik from the tournament. The Russian also booted out Beibit Zhukayev of Kazakhstan 7-6(0) 6-4 in the first round.
