We've reached the quarter finals of the US Open. On Tuesday, Frances Tiafoe and Alex Michelsen will lock horns, which means that at least one American player is guaranteed to feature in the semis. Tiafoe is hoping to feature in the final four at Flushing Meadows for the third time in his career, while Michelsen has already delivered a career-best effort by getting this far. Both players come into this clash off the back of winning three in a row without dropping a set. 

The way in which Frances Tiafoe saw off Daniil Medvedev, who had previously been playing some seriously high-quality tennis, suggests he means business. The American has always been capable of causing upsets, and if he's ever going to lay down a serious challenge for a Grand Slam title, then it'll be Flushing Meadows, where he's arguably at his best. Twice a US Open semi-finalist, Tiafoe is playing some of the best tennis of his career right now, and having beaten a better player last time out, he could easily be a stronger favorite ahead of a match against a competitor who has beaten several times before.
