It's now time to fight for a place in the last four at the WTA event in Bogota, Colombia, where one of the home contingent remains in contention. Most people, including me, would have expected Camila Osorio to be the Colombian to go the furthest, but the three-time winner of this event was surprisingly knocked out on Thursday, leaving Colombian hopes in the hands of Emiliana Arango. On Friday evening, the last remaining Colombian in the tournament will take on Varvara Lepchenko.
Lepchenko has been playing well in recent weeks, but she's not exactly won her first two matches with ease at this tournament, looking a little less comfortable with the conditions than Arango, who is really thriving back on home soil. This should not be ignored. Against a lower-ranked player, Arango should get the job done, and she's worth betting on to do just that.
