Elina Svitolina vs Diana Shnaider Prediction & Picks - WTA Australian Open

Two players currently ranked inside the top 25 according to the WTA Rankings will clash at the Australian Open during the early hours of Friday morning (if you're in the US). Elina Svitolina takes on Diana Shnaider in a match that may just be a little easier to call than the rankings suggest. Shnaider is a very decent player, there's no doubting that, and the Russian has certainly found a way to win of late, scrapping hard to win each of her first two matches at this tournament in three sets. For the first time ever at the Australian Open, she's into the third round. 

Someone who knows all about going beyond the third round is Elina Svitolina, who has been to the fourth round or further five times before, reaching three quarter finals at the Australian Open, doing so in 2018, 2019 and 2025. After she recently won the WTA event in Auckland, New Zealand, I really wouldn't be surprised if she makes light work of this task and once again goes deep into the competition.
