Israel will try to pull off an upset at the 2026 WBC when they face the Dominican Republic in Pool D on Monday evening. The Israelis started this tournament slowly, losing 11-3 to Venezuela. It was a game where they showed minimal urgency, losing the first inning 4-0. However, they regrouped in the second game to defeat Nicaragua 5-0, ultimately booking their place in the next edition of the WBC. The job now gets more difficult against the D.R.
The Dominican Republic, on the other hand, is among the bookmakers’ favorites to win gold this year. Their star-studded squad is loaded with several All-Stars and MVPs, making them a scary opponent.
