One of Wednesday's US Open fixtures is a battle between two top-50 players, with Daniel Merida Aguilar, who is on the rise in the rankings, taking on Andrey Rublev, who is sliding in the opposite direction. Not that long ago, Rublev would've been a huge favorite ahead of a match like this. He's still the most likely winner according to the early market, priced around the -175 mark, which all things considered, looks stingy. 

Given the odds available at the time of writing, it's worth opposing Andrey Rublev here. We all know what the Russian has up his sleeve in terms of ability, but let's be honest, he's finding it tough to showcase his best tennis. He exited Montreal at the first-round stage, before a disappointing second-round exit in Cincinnati, while the fact that he needed five sets to defeat a player ranked outside of the top 100 during the first round of this US Open does not point towards him thriving against a rapidly improving talent.
