On Monday, qualifying at the WTA event in Indian Wells continues. One of the more interesting matches, from a betting point of view, sees Dalma Galfi and Yue Yuan lock horns for the second time in 2026. These two players met just last week in Austin, where it was the Chinese competitor who came out on top, defeating her Hungarian opponent 6-3, 6-2. Off the back of that, Yuan will surely expect herself to progress to the main draw.
Galfi is currently ranked above Yuan, but that didn't exactly play out on the court in Austin. If you'd watched that match without knowing the rankings, you could easily be forgiven for assuming that Yuan is the top-100 player. Unless she improves considerably here, Galfi's participation in the main draw looks less than likely.

Having beaten Dalma Galfi in straight sets a week ago, Yue Yuan really shouId fancy herself to make a winning start to the week in Indian Wells, where she's played well before, reaching the quarter finals back in 2024. To be honest, given home straightforward her very recent win against Galfi was, I am a little surprised to see that she's not a stronger favorite.
There really was no messing from the Chinese player when these two met in Austin last week, so it's difficult to see the Hungarian avoiding the same outcome, so much so that odds of -137 are worth taking.
