After struggling early in the clay-court season, Coco Gauff accomplished her mission at the Rome tournament two weeks ago, building up her confidence before arriving on the courts of Roland Garros. Anastasia Potapova, for her part, has put in strong performances on clay in recent weeks, defeating J. Ostapenko and then world No. 2 E. Rybakina in Madrid before falling in the semifinals to M. Kostyuk. Having also defeated K. Muchova and L. Samsonova in Rome to reach the round of 16 there, she should believe in her chances in this match as she attempts to reach the round of 16 in Paris for the second time in her career.
