Cuba will look to continue with their blistering start to the 2026 WBC when they play Panama on Sunday afternoon in San Juan. The Cubans, who are making their sixth appearance at this tournament, got off to the right note in Pool A with a 3-1 victory over Panama. Ariel Martinez led from the front with two hits, whereas their starting pitcher, Livan Moinelo, tossed 3.2 shutout innings to earn them the win. They’ll be eager to build on this result on Sunday.
Colombia, on the other hand, are staring at a possible exit from this campaign if they lose to Cuba. They started their campaign slowly with a 5-0 thumping against Puerto Rico before losing 8-2 to Canada on Saturday. The Colombians are making just their third appearance at this event, and their hopes of sneaking past the group stage now hang in the balance. They’ll be under pressure to get results against Cuba.
