The Cleveland Cavaliers visit the Brooklyn Nets in an NBA 2025-26 game on Friday, October 24, at the Barclays Center.
Both the Cavaliers and the Nets are coming off disappointing losses in their respective season openers. In their 119-111 loss to the New York Knicks, the Cavaliers started out slow and trailed by 15 points entering halftime. They managed to come back and tie the game after three quarters, but the Knicks just had more fuel in the tank in regulation.
Donovan Mitchell topscored for the Cavs with a game-high 31 markers, while Evan Mobley produced 22 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals. It was an underwhelming Cavaliers debut for Lonzo Ball, who only made one of his seven field goals.
Darius Garland, Max Strus, and De'Andre Hunter did not suit up in the loss, and will not also play in Friday's game against the Nets.
Speaking of the Nets, they also sustained a 136-117 loss to the Charlotte Hornets. Their defense was atrocious, allowing the Hornets to make 53.3% of their shots, including 47.2% (17-36) from three-point territory.
No one from the Nets reached the 20-point mark. Nic Claxton topscored with 17, while Cam Thomas struggled with only 15 (2-9 FG, 11-13 FT).
