NHL Central Division rivals meet at the Canada Life Centre on Thursday, as the Winnipeg Jets host the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Jets will try to slow down a Chicago team that's on a 5-1-1 run. Spencer Knight has provided the Blackhawks with solid goaltending, and the offense is buzzing, with Connor Bedard leading the way.
Bedard has just scored his first career hat trick and should be in very high spirits after a four-point outing in Tuesday's 7-3 victory over the Ottawa Senators. With 10 games played this season, Bedard leads the Blackhawks with 12 points (six goals, six assists).
Winnipeg has won seven of its 10 outings this season, playing high-level hockey at both ends of the ice. The team has averaged 3.40 goals per game, while allowing only 2.50. Just two sides in the league have a better defensive record than the Jets.
While Scott Arniel must be happy with how his team has performed early in the year, he will be frustrated with Winnipeg's home results. The Jets have gone just 3-3-0 at the Canada Life Centre and could now enter this weekend with a losing home record if they can't cool down Bedard and the Blackhawks.
