Brazil will kickstart their campaign to earn their ninth Copa America trophy when they clash with Venezuela on Sunday night. They are the favorites in Group B, which also includes Paraguay, Colombia, and Bolivia. Brazil failed to lift the trophy only once, in 2006, when the hosts, Argentina, were champions. This impressive form sees them come into this year’s edition as favorites, and head coach Arthur Elias will be aware of this heavy responsibility. Starting with a win will be critical.
Venezuela, on the other hand, will know that getting results against heavy-hitters Brazil could set the right momentum in the camp. They’ll be looking for their best-ever performance in this competition since their third-place finish in the inaugural 1991 Copa America Femenina.
