The Boston Bruins will complete a back-to-back set on Saturday against the Minnesota Wild at Grand Casino Arena. After a good start to the campaign, it could be a difficult night for Marco Strum’s men.
Boston started the season with an impressive 3-0 home win against the New York Rangers. In a matchup between two elite goalies, Jeremy Swayman outplayed Igor Shesterkin as the Bruins scored three late goals.
After kicking off the year on home ice, the Bruins are already on a short two-game road trip. On Friday, they face a Winnipeg Jets team that can be very physical. The hosts could wear down the Bruins, which would help Minnesota on Saturday.
The Wild received shocking news before the season started, as defenseman Brock Faber had to undergo surgery for a fractured skull. However, the team didn’t really miss him in the season opener, beating the Nashville Predators 3-1 on the road.
Minnesota’s defense did a great job without Faber, and there were three different goal-scorers - it’s always a good sign for a team if the goals are shared around.
