The action is heating up at Wimbledon, and this Saturday features a standout third-round clash between two top-20 players: Czech star Barbora Krejcikova and American hopeful Emma Navarro.

Krejcikova arrived in London after withdrawing from the Eastbourne quarterfinals due to injury, handing a walkover to France’s Varvara Gracheva. Back on court since May following a lengthy layoff, the former Grand Slam champion had to dig deep in her Wimbledon opener, coming from behind to defeat the Philippines’ Alexandra Eala (world No. 56). In the second round, she again dropped a set before eventually overcoming American Caroline Dolehide (ranked 67th). It’s been a shaky start to the tournament for the Czech, who’s yet to win a match in straight sets.

On the other side, Emma Navarro is riding a strong wave of form. The American already beat a top-20 player on grass this season, Beatriz Haddad Maia, during the first round in London. She also made the quarterfinals in Bad Homburg, where she lost to Jessica Pegula right before heading to Wimbledon. At the All England Club, Navarro has cruised through her first two rounds, taking down Petra Kvitova and Veronika Kudermetova in straight sets. Her form so far is far more convincing and gives her a solid shot in this upcoming battle.
