Terence Atmane, despite having twice retired recently, is due to take on Rinky Hijikata at the ATP event in Almaty on Tuesday morning. This will be the first time that the players have faced each other as top-level pros. Hijkata is bidding to become the third Aussie since 2020 to reach the final of this event. Interestingly, if Atmane was to be over his fitness issues, he could become the third French player to reach the final of this tournament since 2020. 

Since the lines for this match opened, the early market has already moved in favor of Rinky Hijikata, but that move is not likely to stop, so taking odds of -115 while you can looks like a smart move. Given Terence Atmane's fitness concerns, it's likely that Hijikata will get shorter still in the betting, and we can't really argue with this, especially as his recent form against players ranked similarly to his French opponent is pleasing.
