Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan will vie for another final appearance on Saturday as he battles Arthur Casaux of France in the semifinal round of the 2025 Gstaad Open.
Bublik punched his ticket to the semifinals after besting Francisco Comesana of Argentina 6-4 6-3. Bublik has continued to serve exceptionally well in this tournament, winning 28 points off the first serves and 15 more off the second to hold all of his serves. Bublik also broke Comesana twice to create enough separation to pull away from the Argentinian.
Casaux advanced to the semifinal of the Gstaad Open after surviving Jerome Kym of Switzerland 7-6(3) 3-6 7-5. The Frenchman only landed 58 percent of his first serves but still managed to win 42 points off these serves. It marked the third straight three-set win for Casaux in this tournament alone. He had also edged Nikoloz Basilashvili 4-6 7-5 7-6(5) and Tomas Martin Etcheverry 6-3 4-6 6-4 in the previous rounds.

Why should you pick Alexander Bublik to cover -3.5 games? It would take more than just skill for Casaux to upset an in-form Bublik in this semifinal clash. As much as I am impressed with Casaux’ run at Gstaad, I think the 22-year-old Frenchman will need a bit more seasoning to become a legitimate threat at this stage of a main tour tournament. Casaux carries a solid 8-18 record against the ATP top-50, but he’s taking on a player who has won 11 of his last 13 matches on clay. Bublik is enjoying a terrific season so far with a 29-17 record and two titles under his belt. Casaux could present some trouble in the first few games, but I am confident that the veteran Bublik will eventually solve his French foe and set himself apart in the later stages of the match.
