Anna Kalinskaya of Russia will go up against Victoria Mboko of Canada for a place in the semifinals of the 2025 Hong Kong Open.

Kalinskaya opened as a slight favorite at -122 against Mboko, who is coming off a gallant come-from-behind win on Thursday.

Kalinskaya barged into the quarterfinals of the WTA 250 Hong Kong Open with a straight-set victory over Shuai Zhang 6-1, 6-1. The Russian put on a clinic, capturing 71 percent of her first serves to hold 6 of 7 service games while breaking Zhang six times. Ranked No.35 in the world, Kalinskaya is scheduled to play her sixth quarterfinal on the WTA Tour this year.

Mboko advanced to another quarterfinal following a gutsy win over Alexandra Eala 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. For the second straight match, Mboko erased a one-set deficit by raising her intensity in the final two sets. In the match against Eala, Mboko found herself in a 1-4 hole in the third set but managed to rattle off five games in a row to pull off the comeback. Mboko improved to 23-7 on the hard court in 2025.
