The Czech had to dig deep, winning 31 points on the first ball and firing four aces to seize 9 of 11 service games played. Noskova also broke the Chinese three times in the match, including the final break in the second game of the third set that helped her storm to a 3-0 lead and force a limping Zheng to withdraw from the match.

Noskova already made her maiden quarterfinal appearance at a WTA 1000 event in February at the Dubai Open. Now ranked 27th in the world, the 20-year-0ld Noskova is on the verge of another final eight stint at a big tournament against an opponent she previously defeated before.
