Alexandra Eala of the Philippines will shoot for a place in the quarterfinal of the 2025 Ikley Open against Valentina Ryser of Switzerland on Thursday.

The top seed in this WTA 125 tournament, Eala improved her grass court record to 6-3 and 2025 slate to 17-13.
Ryser will walk into her second-round clash with Eala riding a three-match win streak, earning her entry into the main draw as a qualifier. Ryser defeated Sara Saito of Japan 6-0 6-4 to reach the round-of-16. She had also beaten another Japanese Sayaka Ishii 6-4 7-5 in the qualifying final and Allegra Korpanec Davis of Great Britain 6-0 6-2 in the first qualifying match.
