Alex Molcan will take to the court for the first time in nearly a month when he begins his US Open campaign on Tuesday. The Slovakian player has not been seen competitively since retiring from a clay-court match in Germany during the first week of August, which means that he's had zero hard-court prep ahead of 2026's final Grand Slam. In contrast, Benjamin Bonzi has played plenty of hard-court tennis, recently reaching the semi finals in Winston-Salem, which should set him up nicely for this task. 

Given that Benjamin Bonzi is the current world number 97, odds of -189 may seem too short, especially as he's up against the world number 86. Here's the thing, though, the French player has been enjoying himself on hard courts of late, while his opponent hasn't played competitively on a hard surface since the first week in March. That fact cannot be overlooked.
