On Saturday, at the Miami Open, there's a battle between the US and Great Britain, when Alex Michelsen and Cameron Norrie lock horns for the third time as professionals. On paper this is quite a closely-matched contest, but for my money, Michelsen should be an even clearer favorite than he is at the time of writing. Not only did the American competitor win in straight sets when the pair last met (2025), but he arrives here in hot form.
It's absolutely worth mentioning that Michelsen has already had the chance to play competitively at this tournament, beating Mattie Bellucci in straight sets during the first round, and he looked in great shape. In contrast, Cameron Norrie received a bye during the first round, so he should be fresh, but he may be a little rusty and may not be as adjusted to the surface as his US counterpart. An interesting clash awaits.
