Following what was a convincing first-round display, Alex De Minaur was afforded a rest during the second round, thanks to the withdrawal of Alexander Blockx, who handed the Aussie a walkover. Fresh from his extra day off, the world number seven will now get down to business in the third round against Jakub Mensik, who is currently ranked as the world number 27.
Mensik is capable of causing some top players problems on clay, there's no doubt about that, but can he really trouble De Minaur? Well, the fact that he endured a super tough battle against Mariano Navone, which went all the way into a fifth set, last time out probably doesn't aid his cause. Nor does the fact that his record against the Aussie is terrible. Looking at the early lines, it's well worth betting on De Minaur to win by at least two sets.

Having previously reached the quarters at Roland Garros, we know that De Minaur has what it takes to go deep at he French Open, and given that he comes into this match nice and fresh, he should have more than enough quality to see off Jakub Mensik without too much of an issue. The Czech player played well in the previous round, defeating a decent player in Mariano Navone, but that was a real war of attrition, which should mean that Mensik is lacking in fitness, especially compared to De Minaur, who won in straight sets during the first round, before having a rest in the second.
