On Wednesday, at the ATP event in Rottederdam, Netherlands, we're going to see one of tennis' most decorated active veterans. That's right, Stanislas Wawrinka, who continues to get down to business on the ATP Tour at the age of 40, will be in action against Aleksandar Vukic. The early betitng tells us that the Swiss player is quite heavily favored to get the job done, and he may well do that. After all, the three-time Grand Slam champion remains a very capable player. Last time out, he was defeat in straight-set by world number six Felix Auger-Aliassime. This is definitely an easier assignment.
Vukic, who is currently ranked 18 places above Wawrinka, also comes into this match off the back of a straight-set defeat. Most recently, the Aussie lost at his home slam, exiting at the first-round stage. Prior to that, he'd won four out of five matches at the ATP event in Adelaide. He'll be hoping to regain that sort of form and upset the odds by beating his older opponent.

As far as I'm concerned, the early market ahead of this match is focusing a little too much on Vukic's Australian Open exit. Sure, the Aussie disappointed by losing in straight sets to a lower-ranked player during the first round, but he'd been in more than respectable form prior to that, defeating the likes of Tsitsipas in Adelaide. Such form tells me that he's got a slightly better chance of, at the very least, pushing the veteran Wawrinka to a third set.
