In this second round of the Australian Open Grand Slam, the Australian public will witness a duel between local Aleksandar Vukic and American Sebastian Korda. Aleksandar Vukic clinched his place in the second round by beating world No. 82 Damir Dzumhur in a 5-set duel lasting almost 3.5 hours. This is the Australian's second victory of the 2025 season, having beaten David Goffin in the round of 16 in Brisbane last week before losing to top 10 player Grigor Dimitrov. 

Sebastian Korda, seeded 22, won his first-round match in 2h30 against qualifier Lukas Klein. A 4-set duel in which the American came within a whisker of the 5th set, concluding his victory in the tie-break of the 4th set. In the end, it was a fairly logical victory for the man who had won 3 times in a row at the Adelaide tournament, where he was a finalist against Felix Auger-Aliassime, ranked 23rd in the world. A narrow defeat in the final will certainly have inspired the American to take his revenge directly in this Grand Slam by going as far as possible. He should have no trouble reaching the 3rd round for the second year running.
