This is a match between Chile and Spain, as Alejandro Tabilo and Rafael Jodar clash. The early market has the Spaniard as the narrow favorite, presumably because he's played hard-court tennis more recently than his opponent. However, Jodar is far from overly consistent, and he arrives here off the back of a defeat against a lesser player than Tabilo, so we probably shouldn't be too surprised if he struggles more than the early odds suggest.
Tabilo also lost his most recent match, but that was against a very decent player in Sebastian Baez. This is an easier assigment, while his general form has been very good, with the world number 40 winning six of his las eight, as well as nine of his last 11. He also has a decent record at this event, never exiting at the first-round stage in four previous attempts.

Our Alejandro Tabilo vs Rafael Jodar Prediction
Presumably, the early market makes Alejandro Tabilo a slight underdog based on the fact that he's switching back from a recent stint on clay courts, which is where he's typically at his best, but let's face it, the Chilean is a capable player in general, while it's not as if he's switching to a rapid hard courts. The courts in Indian Wells play much like many clay courts, so Tabilo should not be discounted here.
Moreover, he's up against a lower-ranked player, who has struggled for consistency in recent weeks. It's also worth mentioning that Tabilo has previously done OK at this event, never previously exiting at the first-round stage, so for my money, he looks a little generously priced to come out on top.
