Off the back of that effort, it's not easy to see the American thriving against someone like Alejandro Tabilo, who is a very capable clay-court competitor.
Not only is the Chilean a strong clay-court player, but he's simply more up to speed than his opponent, who has played just one clay-court match in 2026. In contrast, Tabilo has already done battle at two clay-court tournaments, playing eight matches, winning six and reaching one final. He looks all set to make the second round of this event.
