I'll get right to it here and say that I really do feel like the early market is underestimating Alan Magadan's chances here. At the time of writing (the day before the match), he's a big price, available at around +800 to win this match. I expect that to shorten and shorten a fair bit by the time this match starts, and the same can be said for his '+1.5 Set Handicap' price, so there's value to be had there. The Mexican is ranked significantly lower than his opponent, but he has the benefit of playing on home soil, where the conditions may not suit Bu, who hasn't yet had a competitive match to get used to things. In contrast, Magalan has already played two matches at this tournament, beating a much higher-ranked opponent last time out. Factor in that Bu hasn't played on a hard surface since March and the odds available just look to generous. Magadan can get more competitive than the early market thinks.
