MLB All-Star Game 2026: Everything You Need to Know
by Sam Cox | by Tyler Doty
MLB’s All-Star festivities provide a brief break from the daily routine of making MLB picks during the regular season. While the All-Star product has been a topic of criticism in other major leagues, it’s largely been a success in baseball.
When is MLB All-Star Week?
The All-Star events begin on Friday, July 10. They conclude with the All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 14.
The events kick-off with the Swingman Classic on Friday, followed by the MLB draft on Saturday. The Futures Game and Home Run Derby are on Sunday and Monday, respectively.

Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies, is the venue for MLB All-Star Week in 2026.
It marks the fourth time the Phillies have hosted All-Star Week and the first time it has been held at Citizens Bank Park.

MLB All-Star Props

Juan Soto’s .490 xwOBA over the last month is far ahead of any other hitter (49 points, in fact). The American League don’t have the array of starters to choose from that the NL does, potentially leading to a favorable matchup or two for Soto.
A 50% hard-hit rate across the last 30 days sets Soto up for a big All-Star performance. There’s value backing the future Hall of Famer to hit a home run and to win All-Star MVP.
Bobby Witt Jr. has also been red-hot at the plate, ranking in the top 10 in xwOBA since June 10. The Royals’ superstar came off the bench with a double and two RBIs last year. With a .913 OPS over his last 19 games, it’s worth backing the do-it-all shortstop to have over 1.5 total bases in the Midsummer Classic.
Watch out for Yordan Alvarez, too. A frontrunner for AL MVP, Alvarez leads the majors in xwOBA and has shown throughout his career that he can take the sport’s elite arms deep. Alvarez to register an extra-base hit has plenty of value.
Notable All-Star Snubs
American League
Logan Gilbert, owner of a 1.78 ERA over his last eight starts, and Sonny Gray (2.61 ERA) can count themselves as very unlucky to miss out. Munetaka Murakami has been sidelined with injury for a few weeks, but he’s still one of the AL’s home run leaders after crushing 20 big flies in 57 games.
It was always going to be hard to find a spot for Jonathan Aranda with how well Ben Rice and Nick Kurtz have played. Still, Aranda is in the 89th percentile in xwOBA and isn’t far off the production that earned an All-Star nod in 2025.
There aren’t many other egregious snubs, though Josh Jung would have made the team in most other years with his 136 OPS+.
National League
Zack Wheeler has only made 14 starts this season, but he’s still amassed 4.3 bWAR in 87 innings. It’s hard not to feel for Wheeler, who had the rare opportunity to pitch in a home All-Star Game, though it’s not like the Phils are lacking representation.
Brice Turang missing out when Ozzie Albies is a starter reflects poorly on the process of selecting All-Star rosters. Turang, on merit alone, should be the starter. He’s been worth 3.6 bWAR and should post a 20-20 season.
The contact-hitting of Xavier Edwards and the elite glove of JJ Wetherholt could’ve found their way onto the roster. Justin Wrobleski could have been included ahead of Eduardo Rodriguez, and Jackson Chourio was the odd man out amid a stacked outfield group.
