Best EPL Player Props for the Festive Action
Which player props catch the eye ahead of the festive action?
They say there’s no rest for the wicked, so those playing EPL soccer must be seriously wicked as the festive period brings little time off. Starting on December 26, it’s back down to business for Premier League teams, with games scheduled on the 26th, 27th and 28th.
The first of the festive fixtures will take place at Old Trafford on Friday evening, before we get into the thick of the action on Saturday.
On Saturday, seven games will be taking place, starting with Nottingham Forest vs Man City, which is the perfect place to begin our festive player props journey. Let’s get stuck in.
Nottingham Forest vs Man City: Callum Hudson-Odoi 1+ Shots on Target
The Tricky Trees weren’t so tricky to face at Craven Cottage on Monday, when Fulham made light work of shutting out Sean Dyche’s men, but this game against a forward-pushing Man City team in front of a home crowd is just what the counter-offensive hosts need.
Under Dyche, the Forest boys have been very good on the break in games of this nature, and Callum Hudson-Odoi is one player who really ought to fancy himself to cause trouble for the visitors.
The English winger loves to hit teams on the break, while he’s no stranger to cutting in and shooting in big games, doing so to deadly effect against Spurs recently, scoring not once but twice. This is also a man who has registered five shots on target in his last three starts for Forest.
For my money, odds of +110 are far from an accurate reflection of Hudson-Odoi’s shooting threat in games of this nature. Such odds should definitely be taken by value hunters.
Burnley vs Everton: Jaidon Antony 1+ Shots on Target
Another player who looks a little generously priced to shoot on target as the festive action gets underway on Saturday is Burnley’s Jaidon Antony.
Available at odds of +120 (DraftKings), Antony is Burnley’s best performer in terms of shots on target this season, with the 26-year-old registering a respectable 0.72 shots on target per 90 minutes in the EPL.
Likely to feature from the start against the Toffees, Antony has certainly offered a threat when playing from the outset, registering a shot on target in each of his last three starts for the Clarets, firing off seven shots on target in his last six starts. Such numbers are not easy to ignore.
When he last started on home soil, the forward made the Crystal Palace keeper work, and at odds of +120, I’m betting that he can now test Jordan Pickford in the Everton goal.
Brentford vs Bournemouth: Kevin Schade to Score
At odds of +350, I’m rounding this trio of festive player props off with a bet on Kevin Schade to find the net against Bournemouth.
The scorer of three EPL goals so far this season, Schade recently returned from a brief spell on the sidelines, registering three shots on target last time out. After he looked in the mood for goals against Wolves last weekend, it probably won’t be long before the German gets his name back on the scoresheet.
Schade hasn’t scored since November, but he typically does his best work at home, with all three of his EPL goals this term coming in front of a home crowd, while he’s going up against a Bournemouth defense that is double dodgy.
Having warmed up with a lively performance at Molineux before Christmas, I’m backing this particular Bee to sting the Cherries.
