Four points in their last two matches has allowed West Ham to finally dip out of the relegation zone, but their fight for survival is far from over, oh no. They host Everton at the London Stadium in one of the three o’clock kick-offs this Saturday, where they could really do with all three points to increase the gap to the drop. A player to keep your eyes on in this game is Jarrod Bowen.

West Ham aren’t the only side still fighting for something. Everton are within touching distance of European football, so they too will be looking for the win here, and will definitely see this as an achievable game.

The Toffees haven’t succeeded in keeping a clean sheet in all of their last five away EPL games, totalling eight goals, whilst West Ham have picked up the pace in recent home games, scoring a combined 12 goals in their last seven matches. 

The Hammers do favor playing on home soil, especially Bowen, who gains more confidence in front of goal, coming here with nine goal attempts in his last two home games. He does pretty well in breaking down the better defensive teams, for example, scoring past Brighton, Palace and Villa at home, as well as Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Given the fact that both teams will see this as a must-win, and the fact that both teams have been doing fairly well in scoring in their respective home and away matches, we should see a fair few chances in this game, and Bowen is being slightly underestimated in the early market. 

The forward very rarely goes a home game without having multiple goal attempts, and has a good history of scoring against the tougher teams at the back away from home, such as Crystal Palace and Brighton. What’s more, the last time he faced Moyes’ men, Bowen created three goal attempts, netting one. In such a crucial home game, Bowen will be very keen to have an impact for the team of which he is really treasured.
