In a heated World Series between two teams that have never won one, the Brewers took an early lead at American Family Field, winning Games 1 and 2 by a single run. The series now moves to Tropicana Field, where the parity is expected to continue, but the Rays are considered even favorites in the preseason odds, having won four and lost only one game at home so far this postseason.
In Game 2, Tampa's frustration became unbearable; with RBI hits from Simpson and Caminero and a two-run homer from Hicks, they jumped out to a 4-0 lead as early as the first inning. But once again, the Brewers, this time capitalizing on unusual defensive lapses by the Rays, rallied from a postseason deficit; they had already done so against the Dodgers.
This tenacious Brewers lineup is far from finished; Frelick hit a solo home run to tie Game 2 at 4 in the bottom of the sixth. Pratt drove in Turang to give the Rays the lead, and manager Pat Murphy brought in Ashby instead of Megill to deliver a spectacular save.

Tampa Bay Rays - Milwaukee Brewers: Form Analysis
A close World Series was expected, and it certainly has been. Both the Rays and Brewers entered this series with the best regular-season record in their respective leagues. Both teams play electrifying baseball, with high speed on the bases and methods that don't rely on home runs to bring runs home.
The Brewers were finally able to capitalize on their home-field advantage at American Family Field, but that doesn't give the impression that they have the World Series in the bag. On the contrary, the Rays will use their ace, Peralta, on Monday, who has been pitching with tremendous ease, and the Rays posted a 55-26 record in the regular season at Tropicana Field.
It's a World Series unlike any other for many reasons, the first this century between two teams that have never won the World Series. Milwaukee returned to the Fall Classic after a 44-year absence, while the Rays lost the 2020 World Series.

Tampa Bay Rays & Milwaukee Brewers Squad Analysis
Yandy Díaz, who had been instrumental in the Rays' championship win against the Guardians, went 0-for-5 with 3 strikeouts in Game 2 of the World Series, including his final at-bat of the game, which was ruled a check-swing by the first base umpire.
In Game 2, only DeLuca had a multi-hit game for Tampa, who struck out 10 times in total. However, the move to Tropicana Field could ignite the spirit of Simpson, Aranda, Caminero, and company.
The Brewers will start Robert Grasser; he already has two winning starts this season, both on the road, where he performed well against the Padres and Dodgers. But the Rays will use Freddy Peralta, perhaps the best starting pitcher of this postseason and the one you'd expect to start the series, but Kevin Cash decided to save the Dominican for Game 3; so far he has spectacular numbers: 16.2 IP, a 1.08 ERA, and 12 strikeouts.

Our Tampa Bay Rays vs Milwaukee Brewers Prediction
History is very clear when it says that more than 80% of the teams that took a 2-0 lead in the World Series ended up winning it, but if there's a team that can buck the trend, at least on Monday, it's these combative Rays with a Gasser-Peralta pitching matchup that seems to suit them.
In Tampa Bay, the Rays need to be leading by the sixth or seventh inning to avoid trouble with the Uribe-Ashby-Megill bullpen; in fact, they could very well do it. Peralta should keep them in the game, and the Rays are quite capable of improving on their 3-for-20 record with runners in scoring position in Milwaukee.
Our prediction for Rays vs Brewers is: Rays ML.
