Miami is coming off a surprising and big win over the Buffalo Bills, 30-13. Tua Tagovailoa completed 15 of 21 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns, along with two interceptions. But the star of the game was running back De’Von Achane, who ran for 174 yards and two scores on 22 carries and tacked on another 51 yards in the passing game. The defense gave up 300+ yards in the passing game and two touchdowns, but held the run game in check (22 carries for 87 yards). As for the Commanders, Washington lost to the Detroit Lions 44-22, marking their fifth consecutive loss. Marcus Mariota had an efficient day in the passing game, going 16-22 for 213 yards and two touchdowns. But he got almost no help from the run game (93 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries). Their defense has no answer for the Lions as Jared Goff threw for 320 yards and three touchdowns, and the run game rumbled for 226 yards and two touchdowns.

Miami has some injuries as well, but for the most part, it has simply been playing poorly. However, they have won two of their last three games and just defeated the Buffalo Bills last week. Confidence will be higher for the Dolphins over a Commanders team that has lost five straight, and with good reason.
