The Washington Nationals will try to avoid the series sweep when they face the Toronto Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario. Fans can follow the action once the game gets underway at 3:07 p.m. EST on a regional network, MASN2.
Both teams got solid outings from their starters yesterday (Trevor Williams and Jose Berrios. The Nationals had a 2-0 lead when Williams subbed out after five innings of work, only to see it disappear by the top of the seventh. Bo Bichette broke a 3-3 tie in the bottom of the eighth with a 2-RBI single off Jose Ferrer to make the score 5-3 (which is how it ended). Washington will turn to Mackenzie Gore in hopes of salvaging a win in the series. Gore started the season opener for the Nationals, throwing six scoreless innings with just a single hit and 13 strikeouts. However, he did not factor into the decision. Gore started 32 games for Washington last season, posting a 10-12 record with a 3.90 ERA and 1.42 WHIP. The Blue Jays will give the ball to Easton Lucas, who will be making his Major League debut. Lucas appeared in two games for the Blue Jays last season, pitching 4 2/3 innings and giving up six hits and six earned runs for an ERA of 11.57 and 2.14 WHIP.

Our Toronto Blue Jays vs Washington Nationals Prediction
Toronto is off to a solid start, but I am a little worried about them today because of their starting pitcher, Easton Lucas. He appears to be somewhat easy to hit, and just the pitcher the Nationals need to help give their offense a boost. Gore, on the other hand, looks like someone who could shut the Blue Jays out. I’m betting on Gore to pitch as good as the stats say he can.
Our Nationals vs. Blue Jays Pick: Washington -1.5
