On Saturday, the young Nationals earned their first win of the 2025 season against the Phillies, a team that scored all five runs off Phillies starter Nola, thanks to home runs by Bell and Lowe, both with runners on base. The Phillies were favored to sweep the Nats and take Game 3 of the series with odds around -135, but the opposite happened, and they will travel to Toronto to face the Blue Jays in their first road series of 2025, starting Monday.

Finally, the Blue Jays were able to split games with the Orioles in the four-game home series. Veteran Chris Bassit was the Blue Jays' best starting pitcher, allowing only one home run to O'Hearn in the first inning and ending up pitching six, earning the W while striking out seven. However, the series was dominated by the Orioles' home runs. The visiting team homered away from Toronto, while the Blue Jays only hit three.
