Baltimore Orioles vs Washington Nationals Prediction & Picks - MLB

The Baltimore Orioles (70-49) will play hosts to the visiting Washington Nationals (54-65) on Tuesday night to begin a 3-game series. The Orioles are coming off a loss in Tampa Bay that prevented them from sweeping the Rays but have won 6 of their last 9 games and still hold a half game lead over the New York Yankees for the AL East division lead. The Nationals are also coming off a loss that prevented them from a sweep of the Angels, who they hosted over the weekend. These teams split a short 2-game set back in early May where the Nats took game one 3-0 but fell to the O’s 7-6 in game two. Tonight’s two starters, Jake Irvin (8-10, 3.76) and Trevor Rogers (2-10, 4.71) did not pitch in the previous matchups. Irvin is coming off a rough couple of outings where he allowed 9 runs in 10.2 combined innings against the Giants and Brewers. For Rogers, he pitched 5 innings against Toronto in his last start and held them to 2 runs on 7 hits. This was a good sign for him after being belted for 5 runs in 4.1 innings against the Guardians in his previous start.
