Atlanta Braves vs Washington Nationals Prediction & Picks - MLB

The 23-28 Washington Nationals begin their 7-game road trip with 4 games in Atlanta. After losing 7 of their last 8 games, the Nats took 2 out of 3 from the visiting Mariners over the weekend and are primed to face the injured Braves. Atlanta (30-20) had already lost ace Spencer Strider earlier this year and are now likely to be without Ronald Acuna for the rest of the season. Acuna went down with a non-contact injury while trying to get back to the base in Sunday’s win over the Pirates. Despite the loss of Acuna, the Braves avoided the road sweep in Pittsburgh and are still treading water in the NL East. Jarred Kelenic stepped in for Acuna and it is yet to be determined if he we will be in the outfield going forward. Max Fried (4-2, 3.38) will get the go for the Braves in what will be the 2nd game of the 4-game set against the Nationals. Fried pitched a complete game 3-hitter where he allowed just 1 earned run and struck out 9 while not walking a single batter against the Cubs. Jake Irvin (2-5, 3.79) pitched decent in his last start. He went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 on 5 hits but unfortunately picked up his 5th loss of the season.
