Arizona will task Eduardo Rodriguez with quieting the Washington lineup today. Rodriguez is 5-1 in 12 starts with a 2.24 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP. He has been almost lights out at home, where he is 3-0 in six starts with a 1.34 ERA and has held opponents to a .175 BA.

This is a tough one to pick because of the odds. I can’t see why the D-backs are favored like they are. I get it; the home team usually has an edge, and they have a solid pitcher on the mound today. It helps that Washington’s starter is unimpressive on his best day. But Arizona has been struggling to make contact with the ball, hitting .182 and averaging just over two runs a game. I can’t recommend that team to win outright (no value) or against the spread. At the same time, I have serious doubts about the Nats hitting well against Rodriguez. That narrows my betting options down to one thing.
