The Washington Mystics (19-13) visit the Las Vegas Aces (23-11) for a 2026 WNBA regular season matchup on Thursday, August 13, at Michelob ULTRA Arena.
After a Mystics' one-point victory back in July, the Aces got their revenge with an 86-76 win on Tuesday. It was a low-scoring affair that saw Las Vegas hold Washington to below 20 points in three quarters. A'ja Wilson and Jackie Young led the charge for the Aces with 26 and 25 points, respectively.
The win against the Mystics was a sigh of relief for the Aces, who lost back-to-back games prior. It also looks like the team won't rest their key cogs again, like they did when they sat out Wilson, Young, and Chelsea Gray against the New York Liberty.
As for the Mystics, the recent loss to the Aces unfortunately snapped their seven-game winning streak.
Still, Washington should not be disheartened by the loss, especially knowing that they already beat Las Vegas this season. They still have the second-best defensive rating in the league (104.7), something that they can lean on when their offense stalls.
Moreover, the Mystics don't have anyone on their injury report right now. If they want to establish themselves as a perennial contender, they have to make it a battle on Thursday.
