The Washington Mystics (2-1) visit the Las Vegas Aces (1-1) on May 23, Friday, at the Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas.
The Aces lost their first game of the season but bounced back with a dominant 87-62 win over the Connecticut Sun. Reigning MVP A'ja Wilson did her usual damage with 22 points and 10 rebounds, while newly-acquired star Jewell Lloyd made six three-pointers on her way to 20 markers.
Las Vegas forced Connecticut to a lowly 34.4% shooting in that game, including 16 turnovers.
Meanwhile, the Mystics tripped over the new expansion team Golden State Valkyries in their recent game. They lost 76-74 to the Valkyries, marking a tough offensive game for the Mystics. Brittney Sykes did have 30 points in the loss, but she didn't have quality help from her teammates.
In three games, Sykes is averaging 26.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 5.0 assists. The Mystics are still missing the services of sophomore Aaliyah Edwards, who is nursing a back injury. Edwards, who averaged 7.6 points and 5.6 rebounds, is expected to have a big year this season.
For the Aces' side, they will miss injured players Megan Gustafson and Cheyenne Parker-Tyus.
