The Washington Mystics (14-18) visit the Indiana Fever (18-14) on August 15, Friday, at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
This is the third time that the Fever and the Mystics will face each other. They split their first two games, with the Fever winning the most recent one last June 3.
The Fever is coming off a loss to the Dallas Wings, their third defeat in the last four games. During that span, they've also lost to the Los Angeles Sparks and the Phoenix Mercury.
Superstar guard Caitlin Clark is still on the sidelines nursing a groin injury. She's expected to sit out at least two more weeks, with an estimated return date of August 26. In 13 games this season, Clark averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.8 assists, and 1.6 steals.
As for the Mystics, they're also coming off an 88-83 loss to the Golden State Valkyries. This was their fifth loss in the last six games.
It doesn't help the Mystics' cause that they're missing several key players at this stage of the season. Shakira Austin, who's averaging 12.5 points and 6.6 rebounds, is out with a leg injury. Jacy Sheldon and Georgia Amoore will also miss Friday's game against the Fever.
