The first meeting between the San Jose Sharks (13-11-3) and the Washington Capitals (15-9-2) will take place on Wednesday evening in San Jose.
The Sharks had a positive month of November and started off December on the right foot as well. They are coming off a great 6-3 win over the Utah Mammoth on Monday night. Tyler Toffoli and Will Smith of the Sharks each scored 2 goals in the win. The good night in the offensive zone helped the Sharks to get inside the top 15 in the league in total goals scored.
The Capitals are facing the LA Kings in a late-night game the night before this meeting, which could factor into rest. This meeting with the Sharks will be the 3rd game of a 4-game road trip for the Capitals in just 4 days. They will head over to Anaheim after this to conclude their trip. That said, the Capitals are playing strong hockey as of late. They have won 7 of their last 8 game, including a 4-game win streak that they are bringing into LA on Tuesday night.
Barring any major injuries to star players on the Capitals, they should still be favored on the road here against the Sharks.
