The Seattle Kraken will kick off a six-game homestand on Saturday by hosting the NHL-worst Vancouver Canucks at Climate Pledge Arena.
This is a must-win game for the Kraken, who are currently hanging on to the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. The team has left a lot of points on the board lately, going 1-3-0 across the last four games.
Seattle returned from the Olympic break with back-to-back defeats to Dallas and St. Louis, scoring just once in each contest. Kraken head coach Lane Lambert must find a way to reignite the offense on Saturday night.
The Canucks entered the break with a three-game losing streak and dropped another contest when play resumed earlier this week. They lost 3-2 in overtime at home to fellow strugglers, the Winnipeg Jets. With the result, Vancouver's record in 2026 dropped to 2-13-4.
While the Canucks have struggled to get into the win column this season, they have been competitive against the Kraken. Both previous head-to-head meetings have required a shootout to decide the winner, with each team winning once. Seattle was victorious in the most recent clash on Jan. 2 in Vancouver, beating the Canucks 4-3. Lambert's team will now want to please the fans on home ice.
