Team USA will continue its mission to dominate the FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship when they take on European giants Portugal. The USA had an impressive outing on their opening day, sweeping aside Colombia 3-0 at the Mall of Asia Arena. However, it wasn't an easy game, especially during the first two sets. Still, a win is a win, and the Americans will know that they need a strong start against the Portuguese on Monday afternoon.

Portugal, on the other hand, had to battle hard to shock Cuba in Matchday 1. They dropped their first set 25-20 before rallying to take the next three sets. Outside hitter, Nuno Marques, was the show's star, scoring a match-high 19 points while recording a 65% attacking success rate. He also bagged two kill blocks and two aces to help the Portuguese win their first World Championship game in 23 years. A win on Monday could send a strong message to their rivals.
