The World Cup playoff semi finals take place on Thursday evening, with one of the tightest looking fixtures seeing Ukraine take on Sweden at the Estadi Ciutat de València.
Ukraine find themselves in the playoffs after finishing a distant second to France in their qualification group. Whilst Serhiy Rebrov's side have enjoyed victories over the likes of Iceland, New Zealand and Azerbaijan over the last year, they have fallen short against stronger opposition, which makes them hard to trust against a side with as much talent as the Swedes.
That being said, Sweden endured a torrid qualifying campaign, which saw them pick up just two points from their six fixtures. With star players such as Alexander Isak and Dejan Kulusevski out with long term injuries, Sweden will be relying on Arsenal star Viktor Gyökeres to provide the firepower required to get the job done on Thursday night.

With a place at the World Cup on the line, this is sure to be a tense encounter between two very evenly matched teams.
Whilst Sweden undoubtedly have the edge in terms of overall quality, their recent performances have been extremely poor.
On the other hand, Ukraine look slightly short of top level quality, but are sure to play with passion as they attempt to reach the World Cup for the first time in 20 years.
