Belgium takes on Turkey in a FIBA Women's World Cup game on Friday, September 4, at Max-Schemeling-Halle in Berlin, Germany.
These two teams have faced each other in an official FIBA match twice, with the Belgians taking both games. In their most recent matchup during the 2021 EuroBasket, Belgium escaped with a 63-61 victory. Three Belgian players scored in double digits, led by Emma Meesseman's 15 points.
Meesseman will also suit up on Friday, along with Antonia Delaere and Kyara Linskens, the other double-digit scorers in their 2021 win against Turkey. Meesseman last played for the New York Liberty, and has produced career averages of 11.6 points and 5.3 rebounds in the WNBA.
Another player to watch for Belgium is Julie Allemand, who is one of the best floor generals in the tournament. The 5-foot-9 playmaker currently plays for the Toronto Tempo in the WNBA, and is averaging 6.3 points and 5.6 assists.
As for Turkey, they'll rely on their naturalized player Kennedy Burke. The 6-foot-1 guard helped Turkey return to the World Cup after eight years. Her scoring impact will be key if the team wants to stay in touch with the more talented Belgians.

Our Belgium vs Turkiye Prediction
With Emma Meesseman and Jullie Allemand forming a dangerous duo, Belgium is one of the perennial contenders in the World Cup. FIBA currently has them fourth in their power rankings for a good reason.
Turkey's naturalized player Kennedy Burke is the hooper to watch on the other side, but it will be a challenge to go up against the more talented Belgians. Our prediction for the Belgium vs Turkey match is: Belgium (-11.5) cover the spread.
