Relegation threatened Tottenham have another tough test on Saturday evening, as they take on in-form Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. 

Sunday's 1-0 reverse at Sunderland, coupled with West Ham's 4-0 win over Wolves, saw Spurs drop into the Premier League bottom three for the first time this season. Remarkably, Spurs are yet to win a Premier League fixture this year, and have now picked up just one point from their last eight fixtures. Unless new boss Roberto de Zerbi can turn things around quickly, Spurs will drop out of the top flight for the first time since 1976.

After a mid-season dip, Brighton are firing once again under Fabian Hürzeler. Last weekend's 2-0 win at Burnley was their fifth victory in their last six matches, and moved the Seagulls up to ninth, just one point outside of the European qualification places.

These are deeply worrying times for Tottenham, and unless they can arrest their dramatic slump in form, relegation to the Championship looks inevitable. 

In contrast, Brighton are playing with a lot of confidence at the moment, so they will see this as an excellent opportunity to pick up another three points and boost their European aspirations.
