Nashville SC moves back to the road as it visits Toronto FC, coming off a three-match homestand. The Six Strings have been the typical home-pitch hero this season, taking 13 of 15 points in their past five matches in Nashville. But they’ve played really pedestrian away from Tennessee, taking just four points in five matches on the road.
And this could be a tough ask, because fixture congestion is going to crop up right when Nashville doesn’t need it. They’ve got a trip to Orlando City for the U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday, so they’ve got to manage trying to win a trophy as well as trying to keep their players in top shape for Mand LS matches. In practice, that usually means the next match becomes a slog.

Toronto’s biggest issue this season has been playing in front of its home crowd. The Reds have played seven matches in Ontario and have just one win to show for their troubles. In five of their past six matches at home, Toronto finished with as many goals as it started with.
The Reds are coming off a 6-1 destruction of rival Montreal, but that gets an asterisk because the Quebec side took a red card 21 minutes into the match. Toronto already held a 1-0 lead at that point and was able to open Montreal up and score at will. That’s not really been the way most Toronto matches have worked in 2025. What usually happens is that Toronto gets forced to play from behind and has to figure out a way to get back into the match. Nashville isn’t likely to allow that to happen if it’s focusing on defense. A scoreless draw holds a lot of value here, as Toronto’s attack is likely to be stymied and Nashville would be thrilled to survive and take a point.
